Vintage objects painted by Jessica Brilli
The artist Jessica Brilli living in Quincy, Massachusetts, has painted her latest series to engage viewers with objects from another time: old Kodak cameras, transistor radios, and vintage typewriters. She paints in a style that combines American realism with Appropriation Art, she brings a contemporary eye to technologies from the 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s. Before she begins a new work, she scours flea markets and antique shops, looking for everyday objects that could excite her imagination. Jessica Brilli’s paintings have been purchased by numerous private collectors, and several are displayed in the Radcliffe Institute’s Fay House, Cambridge, MA.
