Amazing typeface showcase: GT America
GT America is a terrific font from Grilli Type, an independent Swiss type foundry. The dedicated website shows a very detailed presentation with fonts in use but also some design particularities animated with a few short videos. Grilli Type was founded by Noël Leu and Thierry Blancpain in late 2009. Today the team also includes Nic Sanchez and Reto Moser. They also work with a lot of amazing people like Josh Schaub, Pieter Pelgrims, Refurnished+, and David Elsener. They are offering original retail and custom typefaces. High quality products with a contemporary aesthetic in the Swiss tradition. This tradition is reflected in both the visual and technical standards of their fonts and service.
GT America builds a bridge between the American Gothic and European Grotesque typeface genres. It combines design features from both traditions and unites them in a contemporary family. The versatile system consists of eighty-four styles across six widths and seven weights. Exclusively available at Grilli Type. There is a free trial fonts that enrolled students are allowed to use for free in their non-commercial school projects. These trial fonts have limited character sets and do not contain kerning.
