Ballpoint pen illustration by Nuria Riaza
Nuria Riaza is an illustrator specialised with blue crystal ballpoint pen, often mixed with embroidery and stitching to give a warm spot to her work. She draws portraits from old family photographs and films; then take them out of context, slicing them as if they were collages with almost encrypted and mystical message. Nuria Riaza has worked with several clients (Diesel, Oysho, Espai Rambleta, the Munich National Opera, the IVAM …) and, of course, for herself. It moves between the fields of textile, editorial and advertising illustration. His work has been published in Smoda (El País), EME Magazine, Juxtapoz, Booooooom !, Hi-fructose, Exhibition-ism, Artnau and Lamono among others.
