Vintage skate and surf drawings by Akira Yonekawa

Akira Yonekawa is a Japanese based illustrator, his work is inspired by old comic books, advertising, and 60’s American sports mascots. He tries to input attractive elements, such as characters’ facial expressions, typefaces, 
printing halftone dots and slippage and burns, discolored facial expressions or discolored papers, into his own characters. A few series are about skating or surfing.
