Khalid El Bahji AKA khalidowski is a very dynamic and enterprising artist who has long enjoyed telling stories through different medias. He recently started a series of images through which he questions fashion brands but also society for a reflection on the evolution of image, representation, and inclusion. I like his impertinence but also his lucidity and, for instance, the rather intelligent management of his Instagram account.
As for many artists, AI opens up new perspectives for him… How does he approach these new narrative forms, what are his current inspirations, his advice to young artists? That’s what I asked him…

Can you introduce yourself?
I’m a French artist with Moroccan roots, based in Paris, blending art direction, storytelling, and visual technology. From brand identity to fiction and AI, my work merges imagery and narrative. My goal is to challenge aesthetics and engagement through my creations. »
You create pro-active advertising visuals for brands, what is your aim?
I create visuals that don’t just catch the eye—they spark conversation. My goal is to blend aesthetics and meaning, so brands connect with their audience on a deeper level. It’s about impact, not just visibility.

What is your biggest source of inspiration currently?
Right now, my biggest inspiration comes from the fusion of digital aesthetics, cultural identity, cinema, and sport advertising. I’m fascinated by how technology reshapes visual storytelling while staying rooted in authenticity. It’s a constant balance between innovation and meaning.
Which AI tools do you use the most and do you have any “secret sauce”?
I mainly use MidJourney and Pika Labs for visuals, but the real magic comes from how you guide the AI. The key is to refine prompts like an art form—details, mood, and storytelling matter. My ‘secret sauce’? Mixing AI with a strong creative vision instead of letting it dictate the result.
Any advice for those who want to get started with AI art?
Don’t just rely on the AI—train your eye, refine your taste, and know what you want to express. AI is a powerful tool, but the real difference comes from your vision and how you push its limits. Experiment, iterate, but always stay true to yourself—your artistic identity is your strength, don’t let it get diluted.
