Who are you?

I’m Jon Gesalaga, originally from the Basque Country and currently living in Galicia, Spain.
My background spans photography and graphic design, with a focus on branding.
I currently work as a therapist in a private addiction center, which serves as a deep source of inspiration by allowing me to glimpse into the human soul — polyhedral, unfathomable.
It also gives me the independence to create whatever I want, freely.

How long have you been using generative AI?

I’ve been in contact with AI tools for years, but it wasn’t until 2025 that I considered them advanced and versatile enough to fully dive in.

What is your biggest source of inspiration currently?

My source of inspiration is the very experience of existence.
Its complexity, its simplicity, its many paradoxes, and an old attraction to its depths.

Which AI tools do you use the most and why?

Midjourney is my base, although I work with multiple tools.
I consider this necessary in order to achieve exactly what I’m looking for.
Each one is specialized in a specific aspect of each image.

Do you have any « secret sauce »?

Yes.

Any advice for those who want to get started with AI art?

My advice would be to use AI as a tool, and not let it turn you into one.
Don’t let trends and public opinion turn you into a tool either.
Be yourselves.
Seen this way, it’s an unprecedented instrument for unleashing creativity, and a wonderful democratization of the creative process. Celebrate it.
